Have to say never heard of many people taking out a contract ! Usually they just buy a s/hand bottle for €10..
Have you asked at a Repsol stockists ? my bet is they wont want to know and fob you off..

If they do then maybe consider getting it re-filled and just use another bottle of gas to spread the value..
May be able to sell it here in UK when you get back or just "gift" it to someone...

Put a for sale sign on it, someone will take it off your hands in Spain, or France even.:)

Obtained a 6kgs Repsol bottle a few years ago when our UK Bottles ran out in the depths of a cold snap in Spain.
Cut to about three years later and I got the Contract price back by taking into a different Repsol garage.
So the answer is Yes, you can get your money back and they're not like those thieving scumbags closer to home who make it so that after ten minutes renting, the bottle is worth Bugger All (Technical phrase).
We got all of what we had paid for it.

If you have the contract paperwork for it then you will get your deposit back...minus a small amount usually.... at a Repsol dealer. You are actually renting the bottle from them rather than owning it.
