Broken Link Removed

This is the only link I can find in English but is widely reported in the Spanish media today.
The relevance is that on formerly 100 kph roads without a central reservation the limit will become 90kph which also means that motorhomes( I believe of any weight but could be wrong ) will be restricted to 80 kph.
Speed limits of 50kph will reduce to 30 kph

Don't see it as a problem, just following the French lead earlier this year.

No one takes any notice anyway.
Actually I think the other measures will affect the benidorm mob more than this. No mobility scooters on pavements anymore they come under group vmp ,road use now.

Up to 3.5t limit will be 90kph over 3.5t restricted to 80kph.

Silly low speed limits will just encourage overtaking in my opinion, it will cancel out the lower injuries from all the brain dead zombies obeying the limits. sorry.

France dropped its speed limit earlier this year - a pity no-one told the French drivers.
We passed a hand painted sign on the road near Dunkirk today that adviced Macron to 'Fiddlesticks off' ( I'm being polite) and I'm sure that's what most French drivers think of the speed limit changes.
As Spanish ones will think of theirs .......

You may well become the"Meat in the Sandwich" as a foreign registered vehicle, sooner than you think.(y)

Personally I shall try to respect the speed limits of my host country.

We have always had 20kph limits in most parts of town & always past any schools. On the odd occasion I've stuck to 20 , remember in mph it is 12,5 people run quicker, I've been overtaken by cyclists let alone cars & everything else-.
Outside my house is a 60 kph limit ( single lane solid white line) with both end curves being 40. The bloke who managed to crash recently left 72m of skid marks on a bone dry road & was probably doing around 120.
Then you get the dual carriageway up the top which has a central division & has a 50kph limit.??
For every 1 who actually sticks to the limit , very few, there are 199 exceeding it. Lorries sit on their limiters & it isn't uncommon for some to be travelling around 140kph. Only discussing this morning that it is & always has been an ideal place to generate funds from fines yet it has never been done.o_O Often mobile speed cameras where it changes from 50 to 100kph coming from the other direction but they've never done it in the bit where most would actually lose their licence for a first offence.

Not so stupid are they.....
Get drivers banned for a first offense and they can't take yet more money off them in the very near future for doing it again.
if they stay where they are they will get far more revenue, possibly from repeat offenders who may otherwise be walking. .

Brain dead zombies obeying the limits? If others had not exceeded the old limits they would not have been reduced..Since when is it brain dead to comply with the law? BUSBY.

Apparently if this all works out well then lorries and coaches will follow suit later in the year:LOL:

This has just been posted on a Spanish road news page I read.

Quote from above article “The new 90 km/h limit brings Spain into line with the majority of European countries on this kind of road, leaving just five where the limit remains 100 km/h (Germany, Austria, Ireland, Poland and Rumania). The limit of 60 mph (96 km/h) in the UK is the highest in Europe, “
So are those countries with 100 km/hr not in Europe ?

I don't think the Spanish understand the concept of a speed limit.

It is interesting logic that you can legally drive a 79 seater 26 tonne coach faster than a 3850kg Motorhome.
