Well after a week in France,4 weeks in Spain and a week up to now in Portugal I realise that Spain gives the most value for money..Most things in Spain are much cheaper,,ie alcohol, fuel, food etc..Probably France is more motorhome friendly but prices are ridiculous .Porgugal camp sites are cheap and the food decent but Spain to me is the overall winner for scenery, value for money and roads.BUSBY.:D:D

We agree completely, off this weekend for 4 months travelling through all of those countries and will be skipping through France as swiftly as we can. Still think it’s cheaper than staying in the UK and way more pleasurable IMHO.

I am not interested in "CHEAP".

I prefer quality and value for money. ;)

Portugal for me every time!

Agree Love Portugal. Spain a close second. France is probably the most Motorhome friendly but as others have said, just to expensive for long term.

Just my opinion

Few years since we were in France previously but having just returned I must say it does seem very expensive now.
Even wine!
Fewer places to spend the night for free.

Out of the three our favourite is Portugal. We find it just as cheap, if not cheaper, than Spain for food, although fuel costs quite a bit more. We just like the Portuguese who are open and friendly and nearly all manage to speak a bit of English.
If your talking The Algarve well it probably 20% more expensive than Spain for food shopping and more so for alcohol..Agree Portugese do speak a little more English but that just makes us lazy regarding trying a few words of Portugese. Moving north next week so will be interesting to see if its better value up there..The Intermarch supermarket in Lagos seems as expensive as the ones in France nearly.Good job there is a Lidl. BUSBY:D2:D2

Its obvious ours is Spain, that's why we decided to live there, depending on where you live is very variable on how cheap it is, it gives us a great life style and the country has a lot to offer, we find the Spanish very friendly and kind to anyone less fortunate. (y)

Our second choice is Portugal, more expensive but acceptable, find the locals hard sell very pushy compared to Spain.
Visited the gypsy market today, and as JJ says, ;) I prefer quality and value for money.
The market was surrounded by GNR in riot gear without the shield, and the other GNR checking the stalls impounding Van's and bagging up lots of not cheap but quality goods. :gum:
Been here and many markets before, but never seen it before. :giggler:
An interesting day and highly entertaining. :pop:

Our 3rd is Germany, another cheap and motorhome friendly place to visit. (y) Bob.

We prefer Portugal to Spain and France. France as many have said, is motorhome friendly but everything really expensive.
The Portuguese seem to be unstintingly helpful and far less pushy than the Spanish hawkers.
Having said that, we love all three, have a second home in France. Hopefully, our movement to all three will not be affected come what may.

After our first visit to Portugal 3 years ago, coming back into Spain was surprised how expensive Spain was after Portugal and we were on the Algarve.
France is still Motorhome Heaven, although it's getting expensive the thousands of free Aires more than make up for it.

I loved Portugal last year and found it really cheap compared to UK and I felt so safe. We are currently in France and not finding it more expensive than the uk and the Aires make up for a lot. Spain is cheap but busy and I don’t feel as safe there any more

I really like spain, but its a bit too brown, hot and dusty for me. Love the people, and you can get better stuff in the supermarkets than France IMO
Very green inland in Andalucia..BUSBY.

L’Eclerc mainly, in the Languedoc region now and using Casino. We were here 2 years ago and it was so expensive, finding it cheaper this time. On a wonderful campsite with large sunny pitch, on the beach , lovely pool and Hammam acsi 18 euros a night , were headed for Portugal but our new dog we rescued from Cyprus was struggling with all the travelling, so we are just going to settle here for a few weeks this trip and let her get accustomed to this life

Spain specialises in constructing buildings abandoning them then covering the ruins with graffiti. Then tipping rubbish nearby to complete the scene. These skills are missing in France, however it doesn't stop me spending winter on the Costa, it's the weather...

Oh dear . It is Portugal for me. Then Spain. France sites much to dear.

I have been known to.LOl. I am not always a FLT. Honest.
