Did you actually do it with DVLA or one of the firm's that do it for you, you have now lost another months tax now it has gone over to the next month.

On there website, you have to press the last tab, i thought i had sorned it already but it seemed to me that final SORN tab is missable and many would leave the site thinking they had completed the sorn. Maybe this is what has happened

Actually, yes I have looked back in my emails and I did get one.

did mine on monday cheque arrived today

Hi mick thanks for that I missed the last tab it's on the next page so I have lost a month :sick:

SORNed last week and got my cheque yesterday. (y)

But how do I pay it into the bank? We're shielding so can't do it. Son agreed to do it for me but he is a key worker and today the bank has informed me that they are only open Mon-Fri 10-2!

I guess that I can post it to the bank, but there are no guarantees that it will get there.

Do I keep it on the noticeboard for 3 months with fingers crossed?
Why didn't they pay it back into my account electronically?

Gordon

Sent mine in the post last week. Paid in 2 days later

Cheques are usually valid for 6 months from date of issue.

Our daughter and son in law take a photo of a cheque on their mobile phones and send it onto the bank. They have been doing this with Lloyd’s bank for some time, seems to work.

Our local post office 'open all hours' when the convenience store is open allows you to pay cheques into any bank might be worth 'checking'

With lloyd's bank and probably others you can download an app, with this you can log onto your account and.it will alow you to pay in a cheque. Your phone will open your camera facility and you will need to take a picture of both sides of the cheque even if it is blank. You can then type in the amount and a reference such as DVLA refund. Hope this helps.

Did mine on line 26th March and received cheque this week. Very efficient I thought. Made sure I got April. Cheque valid for 6 months or as others have said there are other ways of banking it.

May as well leave it until the end of this month if we are still on lockdown. ?

As Others have said, some banking apps will allow you to take a photo of the cheque and then "bank" it. Usually shows up after about 2 days. Keep the cheque though until you are sure it`s cleared. (HSBC bank, in my case). Most cheques are "good" for 6 months, and I am sure the banks will take this "situation" into consideration should it be necessary.

In my case, its £165 annual and I`v already "lost" 3 months. Also If I need to, I am going to use it for the Shopping run to give it a workout. A Standing vehicle deteriorates more rapidly than one used.

Done mine, now do not expect to use it again maybe for a very long time if ever.

Sorn mine Friday with 1 month left, cheque arrived saturday morning only £22 but its a free night some other time.
