I have EBL99, LRM1218, 150w panel and LT95 display. So I have a couple of question...

I have bought a LRM1218 but I haven't swapped the current cheapo charge controller for the LRM1218 yet, but how will I know what my solar out be when I do swap.

I also want to fit another panel, and I think I can fit a 100w panel without over cooking the EBL99. As the EBL has 15 amp fuse should I uprate it to 20amp ?

Hi,

I am not sure what the LT95 looks like ? Analogue Needles?

On the EBL99, you connect the LRM1218, the Schaudt Display systems then usually display Amps.

I think you would be pushing the limits of the EBL99

From aandn.......

The LRM1218 can also cope with a higher Solar Panel voltage, up to 32v, and bigger panels, up to 270W. However, please note that while the LRM1218 can deliver up to 20A to the Elektroblock, most units like the EBL 99, will not tolerate more than 15A being input on the 3 pin Solar plug from the regulator. The early 16amp EBL 99 units have a 10 amp fused Solar Port, so check what rating your particular EBL unit will support.

The E B L 99 doesn't have the facility to display sole charge rate on any display. There is an optional stand alone display available from schaudt but it's not cheap.

Yes, Schaudt sent me details of that display, can't find it now but was certainly not cheap. I will see what my current panel puts out on a sunny day then go from there. My vans a 2012 model so the EBL99 is not an early model.

Could I suggest a Victron BMV-700 instead?
it will show net current load (-) or charging current (+) along with a host of other metrics such as SoC, Time to go etc, and is probably much more useful than a single dedicated solar display - that's what I have gone for with a EBL 119 and Victron MPPT 75/10 solar controller and 150W solar panel installed at Vanbitz - and you can get a BT dongle for the BMV-700 which allows you to monitor all the parameters on your phone

The EBL 99 does display solar charge current when a Schaudt regulator is connected. Mine does so although my control panel is an early IT992 with needle meters
