While touring in Spain and France, from our base in France for the last three months, our fridge developed a fault.

It worked perfectly, switching between the various energy sources without problems. However, when laying it up for a few days/weeks, the "off" button didn't work so we couldn't turn it off. We had to isolate the supply at the main panel meaning that we lost power to the lights, electric step etc when laid up.

We spoke to our dealer in U.K. Saying that as the fridge worked when needed, we would carry on and take it to them when we returned to U.K.

On the day we were due to take it in we tested it again and the fault was still there. We demonstrated the fault to the dealer, on arrival, and left it with them.

They have just rung to say that the fridge has performed properly on every occasion that they have tested it and can find no fault. They will keep it for a few more days and continue to test.

Maybe it doesn't like Continental touring!

This may seem a bit daft but they have fully understood your fault is with the off button?

How many times have we heard of people going back to collect their moho, car etc and the garage saying ohh we thought x wasn't working and not what you have just said.

Just a thought :)

Thanks for the thought but in our phone conversation they described everything they had tried, so I believe they do understand. They are carrying out a couple of minor warranty issues so will keep testing it until the other parts required arrive and are fitted.

We are due to return to France in mid July. If the fault reappears in its current form at least we can still use the fridge. It would be worse if it wouldn't turn on!

You know it's that Continental electric, don't it go the other way round.

:party2::party2::party2::party2::party2::party2::party2:
Almost certainly!:)

But what about the gas and battery? (n)

Perhaps I should label the fridge "Off and on " in French. Then it may understand.(y)
