More than toes wet now!
Just realised original post should have been in here!

Just got a Snipe 2 satellite system from another Funster (thanks Pete(y)) however looking to get the aluminium mounting plate for it.
Any Funster got one they're not needing and looking to move on before I look elsewhere?

Hi there.

We have the same one fitted to our truck. We too do not have the mounting plate . I called into a local B&Q by us here in Stafford. Im sure there must be one local to you? They supply cupboard legs as separates in the Storage section. They come with a triangular mount with a 8mm stud/bolt, already to be used for its connection to the table of choice. If you bought the four and removed the tubular bits(Legs) The aluminium corner parts are excellent for mounting the snipe on and fixing to the roof of the MH. The four cost a £10 in total. The 8 mm stud on the now removed mount..is then used to connect the corner section to the snipe. The corner parts we actually used sikaflex to glue on to the roof. Adjustment for height is by using 4 extra nuts and washer to sit the snipe on. A little bit of ingenuity and it then fits easily to the snipe and job is done!
I have a 10 mm air gap under mine to allow water to run away from it when it pours down. Works really well and is easily removable for when you swap the MH!

Will try and get some pictures if it helps?

Now that's what I like, ingenuity!(y)
I had been kinda thinking about seeing if there was something that could be adapted rather than paying the astronomical price for a mounting plate so your pointer is great.(y)
We have got a Snipe 1 steel plate and was looking to see if I could get male \ female "adapter" studs that could be fitted to that and then the Snipe 2 to those. But, there's a fair weight in this plate and your solution could be a lighter weight alternative.
If it's no hassle photos of your installation would be brilliant.
Appreciate your assistance.(y)

This is what I had done on our Motorhome. I left a 10mm gap underneath (adjustable by the nuts on each corner) to allow the rain water or pressure washer water to run off without pooling. It works well.
The beauty of it of course is also that with a sharp flat bladed knife..it comes off and easily fits then to the next truck too!
Trust me it will not budge even in the blustery of blustery days either!
