Smev oven automatic ignition (1 Viewer)

Hi I have enjoyed reading the forums and I now have my first query if any can help. I have a smev oven with automatic ignition and now the only way it will operate the ignition spark, is if when opening the oven door, to push down hard on the door until it sparks to ignite. As this procedure will eventually break the door I would be grateful if any can help with a solution. Thanks

Sounds as if there is an isolating switch somewhere connected to the door, and it is out of adjustment, (or badly worn)?.

I thought there must be a switch as well PeteH but couldn't see one. But encouraged by you comment I took the bull by the horn and removed the oven door (which wasn't as bad as I thought) and found a small pin switch stuck in propably from food spillage . After freeing the switch all works ok. Many thanks
