Smev FO211 oven

Evening all,

We’re fed up with the delivered Dometic oven in our Burstner Nexxo - it rattles, it’s too small and it burns rather than bakes. Apart from that it’s brilliant.

After much research, thinking of getting a Smev FO211 oven.

Any advice / experience or better alternatives?

Ours is a Smev FO211, cant remember if it’s the newer or older version (2001 van) but it works fine.
The grill is a bit useless-needs quite a long time to heat up, will grill ok but foods need turning.
Oven is reasonable, I usually spatchcock a whole chicken that way they cook a little quicker but leaving it whole is ok. Casseroles, roast veg etc all good.
Mainly it will cook food and not burn it. I used an oven thermometer as the dial is not very informative!
Hunt around online you may find a discount or a refurbished one!

Replaced our useless smev grill with one, a great improvement, only used it as an oven not grill, does take a while to cook, thermostat if always on full, they seam very expensive now, I got ours 5 years ago stock clearance on eBay for £150. Had a dent on the outside but new.

I have one it is 19 yrs old and still works well. Grill is not the best and my version does not have spark ignition, but does cook well.

Have a look at these if you have the room - I had one fitted in my Lyseo.
Much more powerful and bigger.
I always thought Dometic oven grills were pathetic

I’m not sure the Smev would be any different to the oven you already have.
Smev is owned by Dometic I think
