Hi Funsters, how do you all get sleeping bags clean ie washed /dry cleaned ?

some of our local garages have washers and driers like the French supermarkets, Haven't tried one yet bu friends used them sucessfully for their duvets. (Sewell service stations)

It’s going to be a big washing machine at launderette, anyone know one in Mansfield area ?

We take our duvets to Sainsburys they have a Timpsons inside that take duvets etc., for washing.

What filling does the sb have? Down or synthetic.

We wash some of our sleeping bags in the bath and use down detergent for some of them.

For info, a sleeping bag liner can reduse the number of times as sb needs washing - they are easier to wash and dry and the sb gets less damage as it is washed less often.

I'd second cotton liners. Easy to wash and dry. It's what we used to do when we used sleeping bags. Just use sheet & duvet now, so much easier.

Ours goes in our washing machine at home.

You must have a huge washing machine Gellyneck! I've got an 8Kg one and no way can I get even a single duvet or sleeping bag in it.

Not that big (think it's 8kg). Home duvets and sleeping bags in it regularly (obviously more than one load).
Just had to replace our washer dryer, right enough, as the motor was making a grinding noise and couldn't claim under warranty (well, 20 odd years old!).

Maybe it's because we use kingsize quilts rather than single or double. Don't have any sleeping bags now. Our latest duvet is a wool one which apparently doesn't need washing just being put out on the line in the sun for a while! Same with the pillows but we will have to see.

Have you contacted the laundry on Nottingham Road near traffic lights opposite Tichfield park

We use an Ikea double duvet each which easily go in the washing machine at home and whilst away use site washing machines for the covers. BUSBY.

We got fed up washing ours so put a liner in both and washed that instead, leaving the sleeping bag to get washed much less.

I can't stand sleeping in a sleeping bag, i feel trapped. Just saying.......

Snap. Double duvet folded opening to the outside for ventilation.
