Did you have to get a vpn for tv ?We're just back from a 4 month, 16 country tour of Scandinavia and the Baltics. The SIM I got from Tiekom was rock solid across all of these countries. I took the 300GB package at €39 per month. We relied on streaming for all our TV. Perfect.
If you want iPlayer etc then yes you'd need a VPN. We use NordVPN.Did you have to get a vpn for tv ?
Are you with O2? I ask as you mention 63 days. Our Sims have never stopped working even going way over this. Also they contact you with two weeks notice if this is going to be enforced. So I would not worry about being cut off.Is there any sim that will last for 3 months while in europe, I need calls texts and minimal data.
Or any suggestions , what to do when ours stops after 63 days.
Cheers

Bit of a length of string question!I’m with Sky (O2) and currently being shafted £2 per day for the 21 day hotel break we are having in Turkey. So for two of us, it’s going to cost £84… not much winds me up and in the bigger scheme of things it’s not a huge sum, BUT….
We are off to Spain for just over four months from Dec and I feel like O2 is my best bet as they only enforce, according to their T&C’s a 25Gb fair usage cap, which for the phones is absolutely fine.
The question is, will they provide the service for four months, especially as I will have only been with them for two and a bit months before we leave?
Anyone any experience with O2? Any better suggestions?
Are you talking about your phone or mifi? I thought you were with Tiecom? If it's your phone then turn off roaming and use WhatsApp voi through the mifi perhaps?I’m with Sky (O2) and currently being shafted £2 per day for the 21 day hotel break we are having in Turkey. EE have a thing called a smart benefit so if you have a sim only contract with a smart benefit you can choose EU roaming which will allow you to use your plan minutes, texts and data up to 50gb if your plan is greater than 50gb, if you don't choose a plan with a smart benefit you can still pay £10/month for it, with regard to 4 months away, see their policy below, as long as you call them and let them know you will be returning to the UK you should be okay, you should also be able to port your number when you cancel your O2 contract.
Stable links We will monitor your stable link to the UK based on a combination of your presence in the UK and usage in the EU/EEA/Switzerland. You must comply with the EE fair use policy, which includes you being a permanent resident in, or having a stable link to, the UK. We will consider you to have a stable link to the UK if, during any four month period, you: spend a total of two months or more within the UK; and mainly use your inclusive voice, text or data usage allowances in the UK, rather than while you are roaming. If we reasonably believe there is a breach of this stable links policy, we will monitor this based on the combination of your presence in the UK and usage in the EU/EEA/Switzerland for four months. If, during this four month period, we believe or know that you may have breached the conditions set out above, we will notify you of the breaches and ask you to explain the reasons for this, as well as setting out the type of proof you need to supply to satisfy us that your usage complies with EE’s stable links policy. If you do not contact us within 14 days or we think that your explanation for your usage is unreasonable we may apply a surcharge for all future usage. Surcharges will be set out are set out above and we will cease to charge these surcharges when you contact us and either supply the proof requested in our notification or comply with the stable links policy. You may not resell our UK SIM cards to persons not residing in or having stable links to the UK. If you do, we may block the SIM card and roaming services.
They may want to see a copy of a bill in your name at a UK address or something like that perhaps? Your previous O2 phone bill may sufficeThanks for posting this Chris. Sounds like this could be the perfect solution. Just hope I can convince them that I’m UK resident.
