Got a bit to ambitious with the jet wash. Any recommendations for the sealant used on hymer tramp. It's quite flexible, almost spongy. Ta

Don't use jet wash first advice it needs to be on extremely low pressure if you must, but better to hand wash

Sikaflex or Puraflex would be my recommendation.
BUT I see your in Spain so no idea where you would get it..

Unless your near Benidorm cos i will be there next week. :D:cool:

Here you go.. try searching for this at a better price and in the colour you want..
OH AND STOP USING A JET WASH !!! (y)

I’d be surprised if a jet wash would make silicone spongy.

Sounds like it’s either not gone off or some chemical has affected it.

This would be the stuff

Or this was recommend by caravan service engineer when we had a caravan

Look up Hodgesons. Deliberately non setting so the joint can move and you can remove windows.

I don't think they are referring to the jet wash making it spongy but the fact the sealant is soft anyway beforehand.....quite normal for a none setting mastic.

Perhaps the OP is referring to the black neoprene flexible seal between bodywork and skirt ???? It does tend to crumble when old.

Whatever else you do, do not go anywhere near your 'van with silicon. a) it's useless, it won't stick and can easily be peeled off and b) if you try to replace it, 'proper' sealants will not adhere unless you remove every last trace of the silicon; a very tedious job!

Plenty of good recommendations from other posters above.
