Does any one know if I can just take the whole strainer of the pump and reconnect the water pipe directly to the pump as the clear plastic bit has cracked. It is really hard to get too and I would like to know if it possible before I try. This is two days before we go away for 90 days 🤬

Looking at your pics, the feed pipe will unscrew from the filter, the filter will unscrew from the pump and the feed pipe should then screw directly to the pump.

Thanks for that , I was hoping that would be the case👍

If this happens to you it isn’t as big a job as I thought , just as camoyboy says you can unscrew the water pipe then the whole filter body the screw the water pipe directly to the pump.Problem solved until I can get the filter. Portugal here we come 😎thanks every one 👍

Just checked mine H, not sounding smug but all is good, that said i drained down NO heating of any sort, but never give this a thought🤷‍♂️ then again it it only went down to -6 here
I hope yours is ok Scout cos we Never did yours either🤞🤞

I carry epoxy putty as part of my repair kit.

A cable tie and a bit of epoxy putty would provide a useful roadside repair to that plastic cap

Ours was via Amazon but the seller was nomadic leisure, just checked and delivery now says the 29th which doesn't help you a great deal

If it's the one on the second post, I've got a spare one, which way are you travelling? If you're going from Harwich then I'm just 15 miles away. Or if you're going A14/12 then we're about 30 mins from Colchester. We're going to a panto tomorrow so cant meet you somewhere unfortunately

Not sure it was the same pump but mine froze and cracked last winter.
Just removed it and connected the inlet hose directly to the pump.
On mine the particle size of the filter looks to be about 2mm. Do not really a worry in terms of what the pump may see from the bulk tank.

Mine cracked a few years ago and was fine for a week with pipe direct onto pump. Thread and connection identical 1 minute to remove.

The filter is just to stop debris in the water reaching the pump. Yes you can connect direct, I did just that this week when my filter plastic cracked due to some numpty (lol) forgetting to drain down before two weeks of sub zero. I ordered a new filter yesterday on Amazon for £10.99 with free delivery by 31st December. It arrived this morning and the pump was back in filtered action... Good job the sender did not use Royal Mail......

Thank you a very kind offer but I have bypassed the filter and all is working for now and have ordered a new filter which might come tomorrow if not my son is going to post it to Portugal for me . Thanks ever so much for the offer .

Order two.... then you will have a spare for next time..... Assume you already carry a spare pump or refit kit...
Will get you out of a fix in future..
Nobody realises how much we take our water systems and especially pumps for granted until they ain't working.👍👍

I was unable just buy the clear housing part and had to buy the whole fitting. Even though I left the main body in situ and just replaced the clear housing part!

I posted this link last night along with my reply it's missing in original now, perhaps a victim of the sites on /off updates.

Mine cracked 10 or so years ago, never bothered replacing it. No problems to date.

I know Amazon have a few haters But not me ,part ordered yesterday afternoon and delivered less than 24 hours later . That is fantastic service credit where credit is due 👍
