Brand new Burstner and it appears the micro switch in the shower is not working. This is first use. I can turn the kitchen tap on so that it triggers the pump and the shower works great.

Is there a way for a limited skills diy person to check anything?. Maybe it's just a loose wire somewhere. Anything to fix it rather than drive 2 hours back to the dealer!

I'm not sure I follow, are you saying you have to run the sink tap for the shower to work?

This might help, older but same principle.

Often a broken wire inside the tap, unless you are good with a soldering iron leave it to the dealer.
I got fed up with the wires failing on our Hymer and fitter a Shureflow pressure switched pump.

On a micro switched system turning on any tap will start the pump so if a switch fails on a tap you can turn on any other tap just enough to trigger the pump and then have water coming out the tap with the failed switch.

Yes - it is an odd system. Don't know why they use it. Thought a pressure switched pump would be simpler.

(a) Some people find pressure switches annoying as they can be awoken in the night as it restores pressure.
(b) They are required for most submersible pumps and some installers just install the same system regardless of the pump type.
(c) They prevent pressure cycling. If the tap is open, the pump runs continuously without short cycling
