This afternoon we had a knock on the door, by the time we got to the door there was no-one there, and looking out there was a young lad just getting back into a white van and an older chap driving ( both strong Irish accents). They then asked if we wanted to sell the M/ Home after being told no they went.
I have just been down to friends 3 & 4 doors (who both have M/ Homes) away to ask if they were approached, but they hadn't been........ they however have the new door bells that takes pictures / video !!!!!!!
Discussed this with my son and he recons they could have been casing the area and may return at night and take the M/ Home.
Anyone heard of anything like this or is it just a coincidence.

In the past maybe 3 months I've had 5 or 6 dodgy-looking chancers/dealers knock on my door to ask if mine's for sale.

If any of your neighbours videos have captured the vehicles registration you should pass it on to the local police.

The very same thing happened to motorhome owners where I live last week. No where near Southampton though but up near Edinburgh. 2 men in a blue transit with Irish accents knocked on their door and asked to buy their motorhome.
If you have a Ford chassis you should seriously think about alternative security.

Get this every now and again in Dundee, never had a problem subsequently and did in fact once sell an old caravan to them, again no problem, cash in hand.

They need new vans, but they obviously are having trouble getting them from dealers. Remember they actually live in them. Now I've no time for these types, but if they are knocking on the door, then in my book they are genuinely wanting a van ?

Believe me they wouldn't be knocking and asking if they intended to nick it, as they would just do that regardless.

If I get the knock, I'll ask them how much they want to pay, if they make me a good offer and they can pay via a bank account they can have it.

My son had one of those new door bells fitted a couple of years ago linked to his phone!I was a little critical of him spending his money but a few days later his phone woke him and when he looked at it two men in ski suits and masks were trying to break in!They succeeded in breaking the back door,he ran down the stairs shouting and they hot footed it.All captured on video.Police said they wee after the new BMW and Range Rover on the drive. Now both cars have crook locks on every night!,
