Should I Take a Fishing Rod To Norway?

Sorry forgot to post a picture of the kit:

Fishing from the shore in the sea or fjord in Norway is free and no licence required. In my experience fishing in lakes and rivers requires a fishing license (though not sure how that is policed in such a big country with so much water!)
Having worked and lived in Norway for a number of years I can’t recall seeing anyone fishing with floats. Most people fish from the shore spinning.
Mackerel move around the coast in schools so if you chance to cast where they are, it is very difficult not to catch one. I’ve seen people spinning with three or four lures spaced out on the line, pulling in three of four fish at a time.
A good place to fish is where you see other people fishing and catching them 😉.
Good luck!

Just sorted my gear out for next weeks trip “up Norf“. Packed away my carp gear and put back in the 3 spinning set ups and as many lures and spinners as i could lay my hands on.

Only 2 of my 3 girls fish so we‘ll have a rod each and i also found some hand lines from last time we were in Padstow a few years back.

Now to dig up some recipes 🤔 (a bit optimistic…).

Mackerel bashing here we come 👍🏻

I beg your pardon...

Pray tell me...

How on earth are you going to catch a Double Whopper (with extra cheese and bacon) with a fishing rod?
