Does anyone know where the temperature sensor is on a Butstner 590? We have an error message on our truma #621

Ours is a 727 but I don't see why they should be positioned any differently. The habitation temperature sensor is the little black knob just near/above the Truma control panel.

Did the control unit lock you out.? Have left it for 15 minutes? (don't switch off) -

We left it alone and tried again to set it but no joy…. Switched it off last night and have just woken up so will try again today to start from scratch… thankfully it wasn’t cold last night and have woken to a lovely sunny morning 🙂

Thanks VXman and Stealaway for your advice. Still not working so have no heating or hot water but only away for the weekend…getting a repairman out to have a look in the week 🔧

You should be able to test it with a multimeter. I'm guessing It's only a temperature sensitive switch that makes and break. Test it for continuity?

New one here -

I wouldn't expect it to have any effect on the hot water???

Have tried both heat and water separately and both come up with the same error code 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m surprised that such a fault exists. As I thought it was either open or closed circuit. So either heating would be on all the time, or off all the time.

Update… it was the temperature sensor black thingy next to the truma cp. replaced it and all working now
thanks for the responses :thanks3:

not switches any more it will be a temperature sensitive thermistor which changes resistance with temperature you can test with a multimeter on ohms as it gets hotter the resistance will usually drop some rise but rarely now
