securing my motor scooter ? (1 Viewer)

Hi, ok ive got a easy hydra trail, used it only the one time, it did seem secure but each time i stopped it was loose again.
I did use ratchet straps, a strap on each bar end, one on the front wheel and one either side at the back, but it still doesn't seem secure enough, any idea's ?

you can buy motorcycle tie down strap kits on ebay. basically though, secure the wheels and strap down making sure to compress the suspension to stop it bouncing loose

When I carry a bike/scoot I like the front wheel locked into something solid, not sure if the rack you have can clamp the front wheel but that's where I would start. Then a strap round the bar and front brake to keep it still, then when you use the ratchet straps put them on an angle to pull it forward and put a bit of tension on the suspension. The rear straps also pulling it forward and tension on the suspension. Good luck.

On our hydra trail I used as stated already a set of handlebar tie down straps.



We also tied down the front and rear wheels and definitely crushed the suspension a fair bit. We never had it get loose.

I don't take my bike away with us (too heavy Yamaha Super Tenere) but I would suppose you tie it down like on the ferry. Ratchet straps and lean on it as you ratchet it down to load the suspension. This prevents the straps getting loose as you travel.
