Hi - question for all NC500ers.
We starting out on half the NC 500 from Tongue where we reached from Lairg yesterday. (Fabulous 53 miles of remote single track road through heathland with NOTHING around not even animals. Not on the NC 500 so much quieter.)
Now we come to read the small print in our guide book - the clip I’ve attached says the stretch of B839 after Kylesku and its curving bridge towards Drumbeg is not suitable for campervans or larger vehicles.
We drive a 6.4m Globecar with a 2.05m width. Has anyone done this and can reassure us we’ll get around?
The landlady at the Craggan Hotel BritStop says it’s much quieter this year due to no foreign tourists and now with the Scottish schools being back even less so.
Any thoughts? Having come all this way I’d rather not miss this section as they suggest as an option.
Any advice appreciated as ever.

We covered that road through Clashnessie and Lochinver. We have similar PVC, was in September though and 2018. Stayed night at Clashnessie. I don’t remember it being any more challenging than the previous stretches. We stopped in the back of the lay-by- no one else there, saw no-one on beach.

Unsuitable for caravans and coaches. Probably due to the length of the passing places. Amazing thing Google Maps

We were at Clachtoll beach campsite north of Lochnivar ( stunning location) last week and on a rainy day decided to travel further north and check out the scenery.
Our van is a 6m Sprinter PVC and could cope with the 6 mile section we did, however problems occur when you meet larger vehicles than yourself.
To be honest we turned round simply because it wasn't enjoyable.
If your nr Lochnivar, try out the pies from the famous Larder shop/restaurant, amazing.
Restaurant closed but pies being sold from a converted army lorry.

I forgot about the pies, we went to incorrect shop first on side of road away from sea, the best pie shop on side of road nearest sea.
They are huge, a large can of Speckled Hen included for scale!
