Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
There has been a tv series called Secret Scotland with Susan Calman shown here on Channel 5 & this is the second series.

The last episode features my very own Ayrshire & Arran & is in my opinion enchanting, so if your thinking on a trip to sunny Scotland, the series will be worth catching up on, she travels all over the land showing things of interest.

Oh & for Ken Kingham they use kayaks to go out to Pladda lighthouse off the southern end of Arran, me thinks you might enjoy it.

I'm not sure if this Channel 5 series has been broadcast UK wide but, it is available on catchup now.

Great programme. This is why Scotland is our favourite destination.
The beauty is unbelievable and the people very friendly.
I hope not many people watch the programme as they'll all be heading north.

only seen a couple of programmes, it’s excellent. I like Susan Calman, she doesn’t make commentary all about herself, as lots of presenters do. Great filming, too.

Always amuses me when tv channels include the word “secret” in their titles when describing places.
Well, they sure ain’t secret any longer my friend! :giggle:;)

Great series. Have seen the first series and just one of the new one. Will catch up with it over the weekend. Scotland is our favourite place too.

Watched a few but still to catch up with last nights. Love Susan Calman, we'll be back living in Scotland soon only managed 3 years away. ;)
Where you moving to this time?

Sadly I agree with Westhamman, a little bit of Susan Calman goes a long, long way. Lovely scenery though

I watched 5 minutes and the presenter drove me mad. It was the episode about nc500. Shame suppose I could watch with sound turned off.
Same for us, tried watching the NC500 one but just couldn't stand her long enough to sit through it.

Watching in Wales. I do like Susan Calman, I like her excited enthusiasm - for me these programmes are an hour of “ooh we been there” and “ooh interesting/beautiful/wow must go there”

Seen every episode very good series and Susan Calman is a star.

In this situation I would mute TV and switch on subtitles... I was in Galloway lasy year and its a lovely place, roads virtually empty..

My favourite spot was Girvan beach... free parking overlooking beach and Ailsa rock, fantastic fish and chip shop nearby , The Harbour..

I watched the NC500 episode. She went up the East coast across the North coast and completely missed the best part, this being the West coast. I did watch the Glasgow episode and that seemed a little better but then I don’t know Glasgow so she may have missed the best bits of that. She does grate on me a little.

We're hoping to do the NC500 April/May so may try again on catchup. Subs and mute may be required though ?

I’m glad they missed the West coast on the NC500 episode. That way, it’s still a bit...secret.

Enjoyed the prog. and Susan Calman, I'd have her doing Match of the Day, save the taxpayers a fortune replacing Gary Moneybags.

Just watched the two I missed ... given me loads of ideas for weekends away (when the weather is calmer).
