Our son and family would like to get into the campervan/motorhome way of life.
Does anyone know of a 5/5.5m campervan for sale (parking space is restricted). He’s looking/hoping for VW California but would consider any other brands/models. Year approx 2005-12 or later.
Must have 4 forward facing belted seats.
Thanks.

Ebay is a good app to peruse so you get to know prices and what you might like

Are the children old enough for adult belts? If not what do you do with the bulky child seats once at destination.? My honest opinion is that a trailer tent gives space to spread out and a car for visiting the beach when children are young. I know a site is required but I think that is nicest for children to run around, more room in facilities for toilets and washing and so on.

Just beware that there are endless scam ads for VWs in particular on eBay with prices about half what similar vans are actually selling for at the moment. So eBay is likely to give a false impression of what you can get for your money. Not saying don’t buy from eBay, but be very careful.

AutoSleeper Nuevo EK
Hi and what sensible children you have wanting to get into moto homing.
I have had a few motor homes and have just purchased an Auto Sleeper Nuevo, 2017, 20000 miles, with all the bells and whistles, 5.75 meters in length. I did look at a California but decided the value was not there.
Without knowing something about the family, i.e. ages, sexes, desires etc etc its difficult for members to be of any positive help, budget would also be a major factor.
I do agree with Tonks watch out for those scammers. Sounds like Riverbankannie knows a thing or two.
Jim, our leader, has written an article on the buying of a MH, well worth a read.
Do come back as I know that the wealth of information together with the pit falls will come from the members.

Just make sure they realise the issues with a VW, from price being higher for less, through to insurance issues because they are thief magnets. Not to mention the lack of interior space when pitched up
