I have seen a couple of these now, and a few of my clients have seen them also. So I thought this is one that is worth letting you know about.
1st off, no they haven't hacked you, no they don't know what porn you watch and no they don't have a video of you.

If you get this email delete and it and don't worry about it.

Here is the text of the email.

Subject: Your account is being used by another person!

Hello!

I am a hacker who has access to your operating system.
I also have full access to your account.

I've been watching you for a few months now.
The fact is that you were infected with malware through an adult site that you visited.

If you are not familiar with this, I will explain.
Trojan Virus gives me full access and control over a computer or other device.
This means that I can see everything on your screen, turn on the camera and microphone, but you do not know about it.

I also have access to all your contacts and all your correspondence.

Why your antivirus did not detect malware?
Answer: My malware uses the driver, I update its signatures every 4 hours so that your antivirus is silent.

I made a video showing how you satisfy yourself in the left half of the screen, and in the right half you see the video that you watched.
With one click of the mouse, I can send this video to all your emails and contacts on social networks.
I can also post access to all your e-mail correspondence and messengers that you use.

If you want to prevent this,
transfer the amount of $500 to my bitcoin address (if you do not know how to do this, write to Google: "Buy Bitcoin").

My bitcoin address (BTC Wallet) is: 1Bg1uyMjyy2cssPhptnv6z3z4P3sLkz4nd

After receiving the payment, I will delete the video and you will never hear me again.
I give you 50 hours (more than 2 days) to pay.
I have a notice reading this letter, and the timer will work when you see this letter.

Filing a complaint somewhere does not make sense because this email cannot be tracked like my bitcoin address.
I do not make any mistakes.

If I find that you have shared this message with someone else, the video will be immediately distributed.

Best regards!

Got one of these a few months ago, just deleted it.

I thought I'd been sent your video on my pc. I could see a fat, lonely guy wanking and crying, then I realised I hadn't switched my computer on yet and it was my own reflection in the screen ! :ROFLMAO:

Sedge had a similar one about a year or so ago. The scammer was going to share the video with all her contacts if she didn't cough up the dosh, but the grammar was so bad they said they would share the video with everyone if she paid or not! I was looking forward to seeing the video but alas it never arrived!!

Just change your password worked for me

On a similar vein I’ve had a series of would-be scams on my landline in recent days.
Two types so far, both recorded messages:
1) “this is your internet provider, illegal activity has been detected on your account and your account will be shut down in 2 days. Press 1 to talk to an executive”, or variation on this “press 1 to talk to technician”
2) “we confirm that £39.99 will be deducted from your Amazon prime account today for your recent purchase, if you weren’t expecting this press 1 to talk to a representative”

Ignored in both cases.

All these need reporting to Action Fraud
Whether received by text, phone or email, AF can build a picture of what is going around.

Gromett I am so sorry Karl, I just had to watch the video.....you poor soul. Maybe we could do a crowdfunding page for an operation to increase the size of your manhood? Well I presume it was that and not a pen? I hope you don't write to your dear old mother with that pen otherwise :ROFLMAO:

Bugger , must stop looking at naughties :giggler:

Stick your cursor over the name in the email account who delivers it..It will give a grey box with their full address and Ip.
Look up Who called me or Who is It? Put in the Ip or info you get and have a laugh.
Seriously had an attack on mine a fortnight ago. Saying my computer was being watched and in the possession of the FBI ?? That alone tickled me.... Any way ....I put the details into the two sites mentioned and bugger me....The Ip address came back to me from Florida?? How do they get the info from?

Any way...Delete and ignore....It pisses them off!

Kev

Occasionally a male student enters into interactions with females from the phillipines by use of their video cam.
Shortly after, the "live chat" turns into blackmail and I get called for the distressed student.
The threats include showing the video live on the web page of the University, friends, family, etc.
Starting point is normally £750 and quite a few of them pay it. Then they ask for a grand. I m normally called at this point, as they are generally distraught beyond belief
I advise them to cancel all their facebook, twitter, instagram and any other social media accounts and ignore the threats as it has happened so many times before and no video has ever been shown.
They ask if they can pay the money and keep their facebook accounts alive !!!!! "Anything but closing my facebook account"

I had that phishing scam also - I gather it’s popular during lockdown.
As I don’t have a camera on my desktop - and the other reason - I deleted it.
I also phoned my contacts to see if anyone had failed to receive the video, and if so would they like one 😉

Research has shown that after orgasm
15% of men go to sleep
35% get up for a pee
And 50% press <<clear browser history>>

Received that very same email, about 5 of them in fact. All 100% the same except the source was different in each case.

I have a cover on my laptop camera and the goat had anyway consented.
