My system is a teleco MSP 5012. The 'on-screen' message reads..."searching"...the screen has channels including Astra 1 but no Astra 2. I have the instruction book (in italien and french) but its not very informative. The dish raises and sweeps but doesn't lock on to anything. Would appreciate your comments...in advance thanks., cheers.

Do you have 360 degree clear Sky? (It might just be that the Astra sats are behind the house or a tree).
Edit: To help with that, if due North is 12 o'clock, the Astras are at about 5:30 o'clock-ish.
Is it new, or do you know it's history? The satellite tuning details changed a while ago, so if it's been sat in a box for ages they may not be right.
If you like, I can have un bache* at translating the French.
* That's a canopy over decking but you get the idea ...

I expect you will know this but are you near trees, as that will cause the dish to not be able to lock on.
