Please help with where to get a satellite receiver / decoder for getting intelsat 901/907 in Spain.

I’ve contacted a couple of suppliers and they can’t or won’t supply me with one ( only comes as part of a package ! ).

Or maybe you’re selling one ?

Why does a receiver decoder that picks up an Intel sat 901/ 907 in Spain get you.
I'm not pulling your anatomy.
I'm a genuine dodo when it comes tech.

Our home TV channels. BBC ITV CH 4 and 5 I believe

Thanks for the responses but I’m after a receiver box not a fire stick as it looks as though the cost of data in Europe is only going to get more expensive.

you can use an Hello Box 8 which decodes as well its DVB-s2 s2x t2 C £40 ebay or ali express

Not if you have a SKY account sim or a superdrug sim, at the moment.

As it happens, I do have a Sky SIM. 😎 Do you know if the data that rolls over each month is available for use in the EU?

Ian

But do these work in Spain to connect to English channels?🤔
The GTMedia box will work in Spain - you will need to enter the BISS keys which are entered in a hidden menu. The web site I referenced tells you how to get into the hidden menu. Also, make sure you have the latest firmware (also available from that web site).

I recommend you set it up and test it in the UK first.

I was told only a few weeks back whilst enquiring about sky sims that your data is not restricted even in EU and whatever you have including rolled over you can use where and when you want😊🤔

Yes it does and I used my sky sim in France recently with no problems at all. By January I'll have 120 gb in my piggybank so enough for our Spanish trip. You can of course always buy more through your account if you use all your data. Simple process using the my sky app.

That’s good news. I’ve recently reviewed/updated our various plans and I’ve gone for a couple of 10Gb(ish) plans (different providers) that rollover unused data on the basis that they’ll build up and be available for when we travel. 👍

I have a 85cms dish and a Cello 12v tv with built in receiver. I can get every UK channel on the Astra 2 sattelite in France and Spain. This set up works for me on or off grid.

Do you have auto skew on your dish?

Vodafone will only roll over one month's allowance so if not used, 10Gb plan, you will get 20Gb the next month. If then not used for a further month it sticks at 20 GB

It's a manual system, I've used it in the Catalan region without adjusting the LNB skew. I suppose the further South that you travel it may become more of an issue.

Vodafone tell me that, as part of a Christmas giveaway, because we are NOT on an unlimited tariff we have been upped to an UNLIMITED tariff for the next 30 days.
Whether that will be strangled down to 25 watsits (which I would have had anyway) is buried in their T's and C's and I don't fancy losing the will to live to try and find them.

Well all I can say is that you must have experienced an unusual atmospheric event as the Astra 2 UK spot beam for an 85cm dish doesn't include Spain. We always lost signal just after Bordeaux. This is the latest Sat footprint.

I think you would struggle if you move any further South although surprised you can get all UK channels on a Cello sat reciever at all🤔
