Sailing on boxing day

Does any one know if any of Britney ferry’s run on Boxing Day to France or Spain , I have tried on line but keep getting no dates available in December. Is because I am to early or they don’t run then?

You are too early as those dates are not out yet, they do however run to France on Boxing Day but the Spain ferry is usually on Dec 27

We got the ferry to Spain last year (2018) from Portsmouth on Boxing Day. Drove down from the Wirral Christmas day.

The one on Boxing Day was and probably will be this year the economy one where you take turns on the oars and also quite a lot of vans are on the exposed top open deck,
The one on the Jan 27 was and likely to be the Cap Finistre which will cost you around £100 more as it’s designated as a cruise one.

It is (or was) a popular time of year to put them into dry dock for annual survey. So it is likely that a temporary replacement vessel will be brought into service, with a good chance that they will not be the most suitable for the route. At one time Brittany used to stop the service for a full month for this purpose. Hence one year we went out by road through France, Very cold, snow and windy too. but came back after Easter, from Bilbao.

I don’t think the 90/180 starts till 1st jan???

Just double checked emails, boxing day ferry was the Cap Finistre didn't think I did any rowing on the oars.
