We're itching to get away, even for a short break. With this in mind, we've contacted our insurance companies re travel to the Continent while Government advice against non-essential travel remains unchanged.
As reported by others, Nationwide will not cover us for travel insurance. Saga, our vehicle insurers, however were much more positive. They confirmed without hesitation, that there would be no problem with regard to the van insurance. (No, I haven't got it in writing, but we'll follow it up with an email.) They also asked whether they could quote us for travel insurance, as they are now issuing 'Covid-related' policies. We haven't taken them up on that yet, but may well do so.
I know that opinions vary on this, but the vehicle insurance was our main concern, so now our plan is to go to France on 5th July for three weeks.
