After 15 years our dog Ruby has passed to travel in the great motorhome footwell in the sky.

Rescued from Many Tears in South Wales at a year old from Ireland. She was the one at the back of the cage. Head down. Nobody wanted.

Her first walk she was petrified of the open space. But she grew into the most fantastic travel dog you could wish for. Traveling Europe enjoying mountains and beaches. Ferry crossing never a problem. 6hrs and never once returned to a mess. Our Ruby was our baby. 😢 and she met with many of you on the road.

Unfortunately we decided after an extended period of sickness then recovery then sickness again. That we couldn't see her suffering any more.

I held her tightly and cried as never before. Do we don't we. Maybe just another week. The pain in our hearts is unbelievable. I'm still tearing up as I do this. The house is totally silent and empty without her there. The coat she used to shed all over at a great rate that we used to complain about is gradually disappearing from the house. Oh to have her back. Sleep tight baby.

I'm not sure those that don't have dogs will maybe not get it. But those that do have dogs give them a hug from us tonight.

we Have felt this sad loss. It’s so hard, you have her in your heart and in your thoughts.

You gave her a loving home and she reciprocated that love.

A perfect friendship never to be forgotten.

We know exactly how you feel. We went to France in June this year with two dogs but came back with only one. It was sudden and unexpected and we had to make the same heart wrenching decision. It gets a bit easier after time and remember the pleasant times.
He will never be forgotten. You have our sincere condolences.

So sad for your loss, not been a dog owner for a long time. But am aware it can be devastating for owners.

I feel for you.

This is my 4th time. Maybe it's my age and I'm sure the others were just as painful. But as you say time is a great healer.

We will be heading out to Europe for 90 days on 7th Aug. It won't be the same. although we have had Ruby cremated and she came home today.

I'm told she will be going with us.

So sorry for your loss....

It's a heartbreaking decision but one made out of love. I always go by the motto of "better to be a day early than a day too late".

Thanks. I agree.

I prayed that we would wake up one morning and she had drifted off in her sleep. This was the 4th time I've had to make the decision.
I'm struggling with playing God and having to make the decision again. But as you say better a day early than the pain we could have seen.

Fragle. Been there and done that with our wee Bobbie, and like you, doing the kindest thing for Bobbie was possibly the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life.

Sincerest condolences to all concerned. They are not just pets, they are part of our lives, and live forever in our hearts. 💔

Jock & Rita.

Only know too well the feeling as ours had to be PTS two weeks ago, they are a part of your family life and leave a large hole in it, just remember the good times you shared.

Lost one two years ago have a 4 year old second one, but not a day goes by when I don't miss her. Just dread the day when I have to say goodbye to this one.

I feel your pain and sending or love♥️

My thoughts are with you...when Misty & Holly came to the end it tore us both in pieces...then I remember all the soggy dogs and muddy prints...

Thought with you one of the worst times😢lost my little girl Jack Russell in January and was in bits😢😢it’s her twin brother’s 17th birthday today and it took him ages to settle down when she went as having only spent a few nights apart in 16 and a half years.

We now have TWO that travel on shelf next to each other, Father and Son!

The pain is unbelievable isn't it. Then as you say you smile thinking of the good times.

Maybe I won't feel as daft knowing we are not the only one's:giggle:.

Previous dogs were buried in the garden. But we had Ruby cremated at a highly recommended place at Shenston.

They were brilliant. Treated her with total respect. Ashes returned within 2 days single cremations.

We are happy we can still have her with us on our next trip especially as it's so near.

Really sorry to hear your sad story. It really is a horrible decision to make.
Been there too many times and each time it cuts you to pieces, but we all do it for the right reason, no solace can be taken from that, but you know you did the right thing.
Ruby will be waiting for you on Rainbow Bridge.

You obviously gave her a good life, and you were rewarded. Remember the good times.

Hi.
Come on Fragle...so sad for you......but.... She WOULD be coming with you anyway. Remember Siegfried Farnon " All creatures Great and Small " saying as he left the house.
" Come on dogs ! " We are on our sixth dog ( second rescue ).........I say it and...... YES.. the other five still all come with Mira and myself. Joined at the hip for life. " Sassy the last one before Mira, is on our avatar, pic taken on a lane ( South West Coast path ? ) leading off from Molly tuckers playing field site CL . Bit of a while ago.... but would go there again....
