Hi ,
We will be going on a five and a half week trip to the Lofoten Islands and the plan is E06 to Mo i Rana, coast road then ferry to Lofotens then back down the eastern side of Sweden to the Hook of Holland. Its been mentioned that going north via Sweden then cutting across on the E12 may be preferable and we would be grateful for any info. We have visited the southern part of Norway ,so the main aim of the trip is getting north in the time we have available.

Many thanks and safe journeys

Rob

I didn't find a single bad road in that area!

We came down from Nordkapp and the Vesteralen Islands into Lofoten.

Some of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

I'd be tempted to suggest going north up the E8 to Bjerkvik and pick up the E10 from there and on to the Vesteralen.

You can then loop north via Harstad or south via Kanstadbotnen and come in to the Lofoten from the north.

Up to you from there. You could take the ferry back to the mainland, or double back on yourself.

Oh, and don't underestimate those wiggly coast roads. They're wigglier than you might imagine so allow a lot more time than you think you're going to need if you plan to reach a given point at a set time.

Only other thing to watch out for are the winds on those high bridges. Take it steady and you'll be fine.

We went to Norway via Sweden. If you skip through this thread you'll get to the Scandi bit.
