hi I am thinking of taking the van for a run tomorrow round the m60 when lockdown ends but before we go into tier 3 , so the question is would I be breaking the rules or not I think not but what does everyone else think

Does it end on Dec 1st then? I thought it was the 2nd?

As we live close to the m60 there’s not been much of a drop off in the amount of traffic using it, don’t see a problem in driving around it, not as if your going to set up camp on there.

Sorry I meant the 2nd

You go for it :giggle: take mine out every week for a run doesn't do it any good sitting on the drive

Just drive to Heaton Park, for a 5 minute walk, ( allowed) and then drive back the long way back round M60

Good idea but don't they have height restrictions at the entrance?

Drove the motorhome today in the shortest loop possible - Stafford : Uttoxeter : Stoke : M6 Keele Services : Stone : Stafford to get essential gas, food and laundrette. Nobody batted an eyelid and the roads were as busy as normal.

Next challenge, do the same trip wearing a face mask.......and nothing else ( without the stops 😂)

I had my motorhome booked in for an MOT last week, so took it for a long test drive to ensure it is working well. Passed 2 police vehicles that were watching traffic, neither the first bit interested in me and what I was doing

Is weekly better than 4 to 6 weekly?
Been doing mine, where possible on a monthly-ish basis.
I think 4 - 6 weekly would be ok too, keeps the cab battery charged and the brakes get some use so rust on the discs doesn't build up, the oil gets warm and a good run round the engine, especially if you have a DPF fitted it also stops the tyres from flat spotting. But best of all you're out in your moho as my little grandaughter says "What fun"🥰

I use the 60 daily. It’s as busy as ever.

I wouldn’t worry.

If you are on the eastern side. Why not pop up to rawtenstall or ramsbottom and back. It’s a much easier run than where the 60 shoulders the 62?

I took mine on the M62 on Saturday from Heywood as my battery was low. Turned back at Saddleworth as (per usual) the weather was horrendous and I could hardly see where I was going. Traffic no different to normal. Just felt guilty as I passed the "Essential Travel Only " signs.
