Rough in the Irish Sea!

That's only five miles from us. Blown a hooley through the night but the wind has now dropped considerably to a fresh breeze though it was a gale earlier.

On the Scottish News, an Irish lorry driver who was aboard the ferry said that other ferry companies on the route cancelled their services. He said that he crosses the Irish Sea three times a week and it's the worst conditions he'd experienced

When I sailed on the route we always reckoned there was a hole in the middle of the channel. The P&O ships are probably better than the Stena ferries but it is the master's call whether to sail or not. We have had worse weather over the years.
