Roof sagging

I usually use ct1 for bonding the skylight. I installed a maxi fan a while back and it seems to be holding up well. I would think ok for repairing the tear inside combined with some thin sheet material?

My only concern about mounting the supports at right angles to the original is any potential twisting of the cab...

Your going to far into it with this, you just need a FLAT timber frame and a belts and braces seal around your skylight.
Your dipped alloy roof is cosmetic, the fact it holds water because of it, is a pain.
with a belts and baces good seal around your skylight, you would not have damp, just a slightly bowed roof.

I would think the current layout, as described in pic#1 is best.
Reasoning:
a. the way it was built
b. it gains its structure from the side walls whereas the other two suggestions won't have a foundational point to rest on.
c. If you are concerned about repeat failing, maybe you could do a frame like pic #1 and along the side of each main rail, run an alloy strip screwed every 100mm or so.

Ok, points taken. I think I'll get some 40mm schletter solar rail and fit as close to original layout as possible. I'll keep it flat to start and see how it is. I suppose, as suggested some small packers could be used between the new rails and the skin of the roof if needed.

Any suggestions for repairing the tear. I was thinking some thin aluminium sheet covered in CT1 from inside and then some CT1 on the outside.

Hi
Apply double sided IDL tape to the top of your framework, it will add strength and if you double the tape around the skylight area it will give you the natural fall you require to stop water pooling in the future.

Ct 1 fine .why change the original layout ? You are massively over thinking this minor problem bolt box or angle along side the existing rebond the roof and refix the ceiling the structure is better than new remove and reseal the skylight ..job done in a day for £100
