You'll find out when/if the seller contacts you
Of course, they won't be available for a viewing cos they work on the rigs etc but can be delivered by courier after payment and if you don't like it they'll collect and refund your money.

Tell you what, cut out the middle man and send the money to me

I just got a reply. Now to send another.

Dear Sandra,

Thank you for your email regarding the 2003 Auto-trail Dakota. I am happy to let you know that it is still available for £9,650. The vehicle is in perfect condition, no scratches or dents, no hidden defects. It has full service history. HPI clear, 2 keys, 39,333 miles, MOT 11/11/2022.

The vehicle is located at our lot in Durham, DH7 8RE ready to be transported. We recently acquired this vehicle from an auction, it was repossessed, this is why the lower price and it is ready to sell.

We are an internet-based company. Therefore, our organisation offers its services exclusively on the Internet. The vehicles we sell have been taken over by the government or the banks from people with financial woes and repossessed. We participate in auctions for these vehicles all over the United Kingdom, and the vehicles we buy are listed for sale on our website. Since we don't have a brick-and-mortar showroom, the vehicles are stored at the parking lots of banks and financial institutions. We don't have showrooms or specialized people to offer you local inspection or pick-up. A few months ago, we decided to sell not only to other professional dealers but also to private buyers. Again, local pick-up and inspection are not available. We can only deliver the vehicle to your address for free.

We are providing this information to anyone who contacts us for the first time, and we do apologize if it is not an answer to your specific question. We want to explain our business model from the start to save time for us and you.

If you are interested, feel free to reach out to me so that we can discuss any further details.

Thank You!

Dear Sandra,

The vehicle comes with a 5 days buyback guarantee, a copy of it will be provided at your request.

Since we are dealing mainly with transportation and escrow accounts, please note that we don't schedule inspections/pick up at/from our location, but we sell the above mentioned vehicle with a 5 days buy back guarantee. If interested, keep in mind that shipping starts ONLY after we have confirmation of funds deposited into a trust bank account ( in UK finance and UK law, a solicitor may hold an escrow account so both parties are protected in the transaction. This is one of the biggest guarantees that you receive. If something goes wrong, you get the funds back)

For purchase agreement we need buyer's name, address and best number to reach you on. After we receive your info, you will receive the sales contract and also bank account details ( where the funds will be held during the 5 days inspection period ). In case you decide against the purchase you have 5 days to reject the vehicle, funds will be reimbursed. ( full amount)

I have been a regular on e-bay for years and had some nice buys, however, just recently I have tried to buy some small cheap bits, mainly solar lights for garden or M/ Home etc, first time nothing arrived...... ping pong with e-mails, still nothing, turned out they were from China....... never did get the goods, earlier this year needed some more items, ordered without checking as they we're cheap....... turned out it was from the same Chinese outfit........ never have received them and e-bay make it so difficult to contact them, I've now closed my account.

They are advertising a Volkswagen T5.1 on Facebook which is too cheap at £9500. The name of the Facebook account is Chris Bushell, as soon as you enquire they ask you to contact: support@autowebsales.co.uk and Mark Clifford replies with the same standard text pressurizing you to send them money on the basis of a full refund if you are not happy with the vehicle. Clearly this is a scam avoid, avoid, avoid.....

If you ask for a refund from one of these you may only get £1. Back. Then after they have made a refund and nobody checks the amount they can close the case…

ebay say you have been refunded. Case closed.

they will make no other enquires. Buy British avoid the China. Scam ….

Trouble is people new to vans often don't do lots of research before trying to buy. Only yesterday I saw a thread in a FB group which basically was someone asking if they could buy a T5 or newer van with sub-90k mileage and a full camper conversion, well looked after, for under £10k.
I recently had a family member send me details of a VW T4 he was considering buying to use as a day van. After looking at the ad I told him he was VERY likely to have to spend at least the same again as the purchase price on getting it into fair condition. So it would certainly not be the cheap buy he was hoping for.
