Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit Corian worktops, including the sink, in a motorhome? If so any names available please?

A decent kitchen fitter is your man/woman/LBGT/alien.
The sheets can be purchased fairly easily, cut easily, and those in the know will glue up any facings and weld up the joints so as to be almost invisible.
Good luck.

I’d speak to your local solid surface fabricator as they might have off cuts which would be long enough for your project.

Never found Corian heaver than standard worktops, now if your talking about granite they are heavy but make superb worktops.

Yes you can. If you've not got a lot of payload to play with, then you should not.

You definitely can. It's a bit of a specialist job as you need specific clamping and sanding / polishing equipment which a regular kitchen fitter won't have. I'm fairly sure you can get a trendy 12mm (or possibly 15mm) thickness now which would help with the weight issue.

We're having solid laminate in our kitchen at home. Might be an option to consider? Nice thin profile and not overly heavy.

Since 2009 with motorhomes several caravans then tents before that.
Ralph fitted it in ours when he converted it. We think it really finished it off. Worth the extra cost and we had lots of payload to play with.
He also fitted a very handy drop down table, the other side of the hob, which flips up, then back down when not in use.
Giving me lots of work space for a PVC.
Unfortunately I’ve not a photo of it up.

So not suitable for a motorhome ?
Standard in a lot of Motorhomes, was an option on ours the boss wouldn't let me have them as it was €990 extra.

Bear in mind the Corian worktops fitted to Motorhomes are a lot thinner than the standard domestic ones.

We used to install that in school laboratories years ago. You need to be aware that the decorative surface will mark just like a normal laminate worktop. It's not quite as durable as quartz

It will scratch and burn agreed but you can polish it out unlike laminate.

I was referring to the solid laminate which has only a very thin decorative surface. I agree that Corian or any of the other 'solid surface' tops can be sanded and polished to remove scratches

Had Corian worktops fitted at home last year and am very pleased with them. Really need a trained experienced fitter (not your standard kitchen fitter) to make and fit to ensure that the joins are invisible.

AFAIK Corian is only made in 12mm thicknesses. The edge can be thickened up by gluing layers together, to make 24mm or 36mm around the edges. Unlike Ernie Wise a good fitter will make sure you can't see the join.

We never did many so weren't accredited so no guarantee from Corian, we just used to fit 3/4 marine ply baseboard and help the Corian guy from Colchester fit it, so it then had a ten year guarantee, something like £100 a metre from memory same as we charged for Granite.

i am hoping that things have moved on a lot since then, as things tend to do ......

Solid Laminate Worktops

Constructed of several sturdy layers, these surfaces are a high-performance option with a slim profile. Solid laminate worktops are incredibly practical as they are completely waterproof, resistant to a high level of heat and durable against abrasion and impact.
