The manual seems to be for a different version base vehicle.

Any tips before I start trying to get in to replace the offside dipped beam bulb? Looks pretty tough to get in to. Does much stuff need to come off?

Mine blew in Italy and of course dipped beam is a requirement for driving.
I called in to a small old school garage as I couldn`t figure out how to get to it.
The technique was full lock to one side, remove some screws from the wheel arch liner then arm up into opening to reach back of the fitting.
The old guy only wanted 10 euro including the bulb so I gave him an extra 10 euro for a drink.
He seemed well pleased
Mine is a 2003 B544 but same front end I think

I do mine by lay on the floor and reaching up behind bumper.

Cheers folks. Can only get street parking here so not handy to try now. Reckon I'll take a drive to a quiet car park somewhere over the weekend and give it a go.
