the headlamp on my Renault traffic P Reg T1400D has developed rust inside and will fail MOT. Any suggestions where I can obtain replacement new or used. Nearside lamp is required.

Going to follow this, my renault Master headlamps are getting slowly more frosted over so might need replacing if i can't find a means of clearing them.

If they are plastic lenses then you can use T cut with soft cloth or use less elbow grease with a soft pad on a electric drill,
If you are talking about the reflector inside the lamp then it’s a replacement lamp I’m afraid,

ivorantony . Thanks. I had heard that might be possible but was a little unsureabout using something even mildly abrasive in case it made things worse. I suppose if i experiment on a corner that might reassure.

Headlights and headlight polishing kits available on ebay.
Headlight polishing sands the light down and then needs to be polished clear.

I think you will need a breakers yard preferably an old fashioned one with lots of vans scattered around the place growing weeds! Not the strip em and crush em sort.

The absolute best liquid abrasive that I have tried to restore cloudy headlights is brasso. Just wash thoroughly with water afterwards and give it a good coat of decent wax to seal the plastic after, First one I restored and didnt use wax clouded again within months, Redid using ceramic wax and 2 years on, still good

Polishing the scuffs from the bumper of our hire car last week, I just used some Cif kitchen cleaner on a soft sponge, it got all the bumper marks off from the guy who hit us and as the headlights were very dull, I got them gleaming too, but not sure how long they will stay unfaded ?
