Hi, can someone please share the magic trick required to remove a fuse from the engine bay fuse box on a Ducato 290. Was trying to check a fuse on Saturday and ended up with pliers to extract the fuse and damaged it in the process. Is there some sort of retaining mechanism? I cannot believe they are supposed to be this hard to remove. Reason for checking fuse was that I am sure my Aircon is not working and wanted to check fuse F19.
Please share your experience as to how to do this!!

Look on the cover sometimes there is a little plastic tool slides over the fuse and pull.

thanks for the suggestions - will try the fuse puller - will see if its more effective than 6" pliers!

Fuses can corrode in the "jaws" of the holder.
Try easing sideways (lengthways) slightly at both ends with a flat screwdriver to break the corrosion before pulling out.

I had exactly the same problem with a rented (7 months old) Roller Team 694 on an X290 chassis while in New Zealand recently. There is no space to get anything but pliers in, and when the whole fuse box started tearing out from its mounting I gave up trying to get the fuse out! Turned out it wasn´t the fuse, a stone had holed the condenser, but I´d be interested in knowing how you DO get a fuse out on an X290.

This was what was worrying me - the fusebox assembly seemed more likely to come out than the fuse! plus its impossible to see whats going on where its positioned.
Will also be looking for the scar on the heads of the Ducato owners who head-but the stupidly sharp edged plastic vent on the underside of the bonnet.
