Picked up the new 685. Loaded it with stuff and off on our hols.
Unfortunately the latch on the bedroom cupboard broke so couldn't be opened.
A major league exercise then occurred by trying to reach through the adjacent cupboard past the dividing bit to reach the inside of the latch to release it.
Once we had failed with this the dividing bit of wood was removed (screwed from impossible angles and dowels) so we could retrieve my clothes.
Solution then was to remove the inner workings of the latch.
We then looked at the other cupboards (kitchen and under drop-down) and wondered how we would get access if one of them broke. It would be a nightmare.
Our solution is to remove all inner workings of latches from all cupboards. They only lock the things and they remain closed on travel.
Will put them in the roof of house with carpet to be returned when/if selling.
Info for others in case you feel the need to pre empt disaster
