I know some of you will think get a life but I was getting a little bored so decided to be able to keep an eye on the Van from the comfort of my sofa. I started by installing my mifi in the Van. I then put my IP security camera in the Van and connected to the mifi. I used my phone app to view and control the Camera remotely which all worked fine. I have since added a epever-2.4g-rj45-a wifi adapter to my Tracer MPPT solar controller which connects to my mifi and with an app from Epever enables me to log on and view my Solar input Battery status temperature etc. I can also switch the load on and off or reset the timings if required.

I will be upgrading to lithium soon so that should keep me from getting bored again.

P.S The battery drain is minimal and my 400 watts of solar even at this time of the year keeps my battery bank topped up.

I hope I've not sent some of you to sleep.

Phil.

I want to be able to have a camera inside the van, I have MiFi, what camera did you fit and how simple is it to connect to the MiFi and to a phone or tablet?

I get the engine battery voltage from my tracker and the leisure battery voltage from Truma iNet.

It was very simple. I have a V380 ip camera and the app. Unlike connecting to your home broadband where you may have to configure port forwarding. All I had to do was scan for the mifi on the app input the pass code and the camera connected. Any IP camera with a decent app should be simple. My mifi is a vodafone R219h 4g which is plenty fast enough. Hope this helps.

......................... I need a new Motorhome because I've run out of mods to do to but 'er indoors doesn't understand.
You've still got to take your MIMO aerial off the roof and send it to me!:whistle2::laughing:

Tinkering with them is much more fun than using them. I need a new Motorhome because I've run out of mods to do to but 'er indoors doesn't understand.

Yup, with you on that one.
I'm getting desperate now, but remembered that the blind on Heki Midi roof vent rattles when it's breezy and the vent is open and the blind is closed, so I've got a fix in hand for that one, and
I'm about to cut the biggest hole in our van yet, as I could do with a locker door to get access under our bench seating from outside of the van. (y)

Hi Boycie
could you tell me which app you are using to connect to your controller? I have an EPever duo racer and curious if that app would work?

TIA Cush

I'm using the epever pair app for android.
I think it has a rj45 input for the mt50 or mt75 monitor so it should work.

Did you ever make a new door? I have to concider that or cut an inside hatch to get access to my truma. Rapido in thier wisdom put truma in corner with no access (except on some A class).

Yes, I measured many times, made an MDF jig to route the hole, and measured many times again before routing out the hole for the new locker door frame.
Made another jig to router the door insert from the bit that was cut out from the side of our van.

Paul, looks well that, just need to tidy up the old faded one now lol.

Now you just need to add a Cerbo GX 🙂

I can monitor from the comfort of my chair:
SOC in the battery
Starter battery voltage
How solar is doing
How much is being drawn from battery
Van temperature
Fresh water
LPG

The original frame remains as it was going to be a pain to remove as it is a self-contained all-in-one battery box, but I have replaced the door with a new one to pretty it up. (y)

Looks spot on. Door frame a standard size, just searched quite a range available. I'm cringing even thinking about measuring the hole. I Don't even know the orientation of the truma in the corner. this would determine if side or rear door would be best. I may chicken out and drill hole for endoscope and try an internal hatch, at least it will be hidden by drawers.
