Remoska or slow cooker

We have a small slow cooker in our motorhome which gets a fair bit of use, we wondered if we would get a bit more use and expand our cooking by getting a Remoska.
So the question is how different are they and what can I cook in a Remoska that I can`t in a slow cooker?

We have a remoska for home as well as the motorhome. After having one, you wouldn't go anywhere without it.

We have the big one ( grand ?) but we haven't used it a lot.

Speak to Sian and Carmarthen Treacle, she uses ours all the time, everything from pizza to a full blown Sunday roast. Me, I don't know how to turn it on

Used ours for the first time properly on an extended trip last year and fell in love with it.
Next to our Raskelf topper its the best bit of kit we've ever bought for the m/home. Cooks everything from Sunday roast to an upside down pudding and best of all it never burns anything.

Expensive well maybe but buy once buy quality

I love my Remoska(s)
Cakes, scones, rice puddings, stewed fruit, quiche, casseroles / curries / stews, risottos, grills chops etc,.roasts all sorts of foods, did a layered veg dish this week, scrummy. Very difficult to burn anything, washing it up is a doddle. So it does everything an oven will do AND does a lot of things that you would do on the hob even better as things will not boil over or burn to the bottom.
Do not buy the recipe book, very confusing, just use common sense and good judgement. Jane

Also . Because it is only 500watts it will run off the inverter :thumb:

We cook pork steaks . Chicken legs . veg even FEB .......

Have used one in m/h for about 9 years (now using number 2). Wouldn't be without one when hooked-up! Comes into it's when on low elec supply eg on Continent and 6amps. Makes excellent ommlettes .. Pre-heat Remoska. For 2, chop up and cook 4 rashers 4 mushrooms. Meanwhile beat up 3 eggs, add s&p Check bacon is cooked. Avoid lifting Remoska lid too often, you can see what's cooking through its lid. Pour on eggs and cook. PS be v careful handling the Remoska lid it gets v hot
It's great for cooking jacket potatoes - can't do those in a slow Cooker!
Slow cooker does what it says!
Remoska takes just a bit longer than a conventional oven. And what you can do in an oven you can do in a Remoska but using very low power!
Happy cooking - when on electrics your paying for it why not use it?

The slow cooker can be put on in the morning via an inverter and the meal will be ready for you when you stop at the end of the day.

You have to use the Remoska like a Halogen oven or a small electric oven.

We've used all 3 and for us the Remoska comes out tops.:thumb:

It uses less than 500 watts so is economical in the van and at home

My wife tells me we should have got the smaller version to take up less space in the van. The version we have is quite big I think it's called the "grand" or something like that.

The Standard is the size most people need. The Grand is just too cumbersome in the van Jane

We bought the smaller version, the Grand is huge we really don`t need one that large, the smaller one will easily fit 4 chicken breasts etc etc.
Small sometimes is better..

A cheaper version of the Remoska is the Koolatron sold by Amazon.

The pan is a bit lighter in weight. But it has a couple of advantages over the Remoska in as much as it has a temperature control and you can remove the power lead.
We have both and to be honest there is little difference when it comes to using them.

A couple of weeks ago at the Broadlands show we saw a slow cooker that just used stored heat like a themos flask.

Today in Portsmouth a found a slightly smaller one at 25 quid. I must say little suspicious at how good so came home and got right to it. What a cracking bit of kit

Bring ya pan to temperature put in the thermos and leave

Although I must admit I don't think that the pan is dishwasher proof, then, I don't think the Remoska is either.:Sad:
