Getting better month by month.
Do Bio tabs or liquids do anything to the “contents” of the cassette or just cover the smell. I have only ever use proprietary products and the contents are always “dealt” with before emptying is required. If these other products work, then a change is on the horizon.(y)

I know a great deal of motorhomers swear by using washing liquid/tabs but I'm afraid I wasn't convinced. We gave it a try last summer and I hated emptying the cassette! Even using fragranced bio liquid didn't help. Needless to say I went back to using Thetford sachets. Not the cheapest option but in my opinion the best. The loo has to be dealt with so I'd rather pay a little more and at least have a more pleasant experience!

Never leave a campsite with your clothes line tied to a lamp post.
We have used BIO sachets or liquid from multiple manufacturers from day one and have never had a problem with emptying the cassette. It only takes a few days to work out the dosage that works best for you,

I use the Thetford Blue liquid ... also have a SOG... belts and braces

can't see the point of penny-pinching

Use BIO washing machine liquid. One cap for 'number ones', two caps for 'number 2s'. It wont work if you use non-bio. (y)

Bio..
Non bio doesn't do the job

So what do you use in Spain & Portugal? Never found any with 'BIO' on the label down here.

On and off for many years.
Bio liquid for us. I'm allergic to something in the elsan and thetford stuff, even the smell of it gives me a migraine.

Dosage - a couple of capfuls to start with a cupful of water and as a capful when you think you need to. If we are travelling the cassette contents are liquid when emptied and don't smell bad. If we are on a site I empty the cassette every day and then there are, ahem, lumps :)

Just found an old bottle and yes it does refer to 'ENZIMES' followed by some VERY long words.
Will check on others some time.

Dunno if this helps but the green stuff is nothing like the blue stuff, it smells quite nice actually :)

Perhaps the 'tabs' could be used as suppositories thereby bypassing the whole dose issue and dealing with the matter at source

Use a mix of blue fluid and non bio liquid (belt and braces!!) no real smell and we can use the rest of the non bio to wash our clothes as well (allergic to the bio)
