Took advise from previous blogs regarding French SIM cards, and bought a Reglo one from a Leclerc supermarket, it has been fantastic , so firstly thanks many for the advise .. We will use this option from now on …

Could anyone advise where the nearest large Leclerc supermarket is in Calais ??

And does anyone know whether my wife and I using separate passports could buy two Reglo sims to see us through our trip ??

As stated earlier, I bought and activated my Reglo 300gb very easily.

I am now stumped! I have the sim card, and want to recharge it here, but I have no idea what the phone number is!

The packaging is somewhere in France in the cardboard waste bin. I can't get the phone number by putting it into my phone as it is expired. I can't do the ' *#100# ' trick as ... it has expired!

There is a number printed in the SIM card. Can anyone tell me whether this number is anything related to the actual number?

Thanks very much.

The number is usually on the outer ring which the sim sits, if you’ve thrown that and your unable to see the number when it’s in your phone then new one will be required🤔

Put the sim in your phone dial 6772, you will get an automated message with your phone number, if you don’t speak French don’t worry the number will automatically be sent by sms after the call. To top up if you have a voucher phone 732 and input the voucher code, if not give the check out assistant your telephone number and they can apply the credit immediately.

I did get the response in French, but no phone number. And no SMS afterwards. I am going to contact Reglo for advice.

But thanks for trying top help!

Does anyone know which provider reglo use? I thought it was SFR but I noticed earlier at the top of my phone it says Orange France. I was searching earlier for coverage for our next stop tomorrow and it looks great on SFR but its not much cop if the phone is Orange. I'll see if I can check orange coverage as well.

Yeah for us 12gb is under one day. We don’t do low data.

With a VPN likely yes. Been watching the cricket whilst out here on Sky Sports on NowTV on iPad and fire stick just fine using our ExpressVPN service.

Without one I dunno. When watching UK TV we put the vpn on the iPad or fire stick in on mode

NowTV at least does not work on a phone even via vpn as the phones gps chip takes precedence to the vpn. So I would not suggest trying on a phone
I use Express VPN on my firestick, using a Reglo SIM in our Mifi system, when we're away. It's excellent for watching UK television, but do you mean that you are able to watch Spy Sports free, through the NowTV channel, or do you have to subscribe to NowTV, please?

When I bought our Reglo SIM last September, the phone number wasn't on any of the packaging. It was sent to me via an sms text from Reglo.

If you're using it in your phone, check through the initial text messages that Reglo sent you. It should be there.

If you are using it in a Mifi system you should be able to find the messages in the SMS Utilities tab if you log into your router's Webpage interface on a Tablet or mobile phone. We have an Avtex Mifi system and I can check sms messages by logging into the Advanced section of the router's Webpage interface.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for this, but it never went anywhere near my phone. And because it is expired (and French), the router doesn't like it

HOWEVER!

I have resolution. I sent an email to serviceclient@reglomobile.fr, quoting the SIM number. The next day they emailed me back with the phone number. I logged on and successfully recharged the SIM card.

Which is fine - ish. Apparently, I have to keep putting in the minimum bill amount (14 euro) to keep the SIM card alive. I now need to find a way to put the SIM card into hibernation.

But a success thanks to Reglo customer service.

I think you could reduce the payment to the lowest but not sure what the lowest is, I think it on your Reglo dashboard

You have to pay for it yes. We have a 19.99 a month sports subscription via them as it’s cheaper than sky.

Works a treat and works abroad unlike sky.

If you register it and prefer it's there ready for a trip, you can online register it to an account, and drop the tariff to like 2 euro a month (I think this is lowest) until you next in France.

However, it's just as easy to get a new sim card (as we did this trip). Remember a new sim is 5 euro, so unless you go to the continent every 3-4 months you probably better doing the new sim every trip and just prepay a single month.

(I saw above given we will likely end up in a Leclerk after the tunnel or ferry anyhow to get some grub for eating in France). We prefer Leclerk stores to Carrefour and Auchan.

The last 2 or 3 times in Spain we have got a SIM from Vodafone shops.
PAYG and usually about 250gb for €15. We paid cash and they activated it in the shop.

Terry
Thank you, that's very helpful 👍

These are the current offers online. I bought an older stock card from Leclerc at 14,80 for 200 Gb but when it registered (3 days to port number) I got the 250 Gb without a prepayment plan. Going to drop down to 40 Gb at end of month because I don’t use tonnes of data and 19 Gb in EU is enough when I visit Spain.

You get 40 Gb in France / 19 Gb Eu - 5,80€
200 Gb / 25 Gb - 7,80€
300 Gb / 32 Gb - 11,80€
The ECO contact is 1 Gb / 1 Gb - 1,80€

The customer area is very easy to navigate and change packages or recharge your sim at the end of your contract month date

We bought one for our Wifi from Leclerc in Reims for our month touring around France. Paid 15 euro cash for the 250 GB sim and it worked without a hitch. Brilliant.

A bit of help please from you Reglo experts.

Its getting near to our first top up for both our sims. We got them 25th of June. I have found the link to recharge here https://www.reglomobile.fr/recharger-mon-forfait and I know both our numbers. In the second field it asks what amount you want to charge in Euros. We paid €9.80 each but on the site now it lists the 200gb as €7.80. https://www.reglomobile.fr/forfaits-mobiles what should I do?

Is that literally it. Put in your number, the amount and pay? Sounds too easy for France! :D

That is what I did, and yes it worked. My cost was 14 euro as I had the 300gb option, but I imagine it is the same.

However, and this might be helpful. The first time I did it, I tried to recharge it by only five euros - just to keep the card 'alive'. The website said that I couldn't do that, and told me that I need to increase the recharge to 14 euro. I did that and we are all set for another month. Easy

Thanks. I just stuck €9.80 on again which is what we paid. I presume if I have over paid it will credit it. I Also assume it will only be active after the 25th? It was dead easy. Well assuming its worked.

I would say so , be careful if you do end up doing automatic top up, you then have to give 30 day notice to cancel sim

Just be careful in the future and if I you log in to Reglo with a new sim use a different email

I'm not entirely sure if either of our sims are even linked to an email. I did create an account but it refused to let me connect it to my email address I think. As long as it tops up ok I dont care. Ill just chuck it end of September. However now you mention it I did i think have to give my email address to the guy on the till at E.Leclerc. I assumed it was a marketing thing.
