Have been looking at a Maxview UK HD FTA which has a remote IR sensor but open to suggestions.

Thats not FREESAT..... It's Free to air... :)

Freesat receivers have a dedicated EPG (Electronic Program Guide) that sorts all the UK stations into an order similar to Freeview / Sky.. So easy to use and gets updated via the satellite when changes are made.

Free to Air will still get you the same channels but will be all over the place and mixed with others, so will need a bit of sorting..

We hope to go to France next year so the free to air gives more choice ?

I believe the freesat box can be set to tune into free to air channels also.

No problem but the title of this post does say..
Recommendations for a Freesat box :)

My Humax box has served me well for several years, a worthy replacement for the overpriced scoundrels called Sky. My box cost me five months' subscription fees and I miss hardly any of the channels I am now unable to get.

Mine is out of date now and I'm thinking of this although the twin LNB input is wasted on me

Yes it was a bargain and still works with only one LNB all be it with obvious limitations. Normally £150
