Rebooking tunnel?

We took a punt and booked tunnel for mid July - not cheap!

If we change the dates to October (which is currently a lot cheaper) and then have to change yet again to early July next year (which presumably would be cheaper than what we originally paid but more expensive than October) would we get hit with the increase from October to July?

Am I correct in saying that one can only amend a booking to a date 12 months in the future from the date that the original booking was made and NOT the date of original travel.
