Rear passenger seat improvements

we bought our motorhome despite the horrendous interior trim with the intention of getting it re done. Then decided to live with it for a year as it meant we could be less precious about it having 2 boys under 10. It also hides wine spills very well .

These rear passenger seats are not the best for long journeys with absolutely no shape to them. I would like to address that at the same time as the re trim. Looking to make a big improvement with a properly shaped seat not just replacing the flat foam pads. Has anyone done anything similar? Note although the area will go down to a bed it's not one that we will ever use.

The problem is often caused by the need to have the seat double as a bed. To be comfortable as a seat one needs the backrest and the seat to be angled slightly, a raised section called the knee roll helping to support the legs. But of course we want it dead flat as a bed. Our old Talbot Camelot PVC had a good solution, the backrest and seat cushions were fixed to a plywood panel, the two halves joined by a hinge. The allowed the seat to be set at angle or the laid flat as a bed.

Yes that's exactly it. Ours is a six birth and there's 4 of us so that seat will not need to be made up as a bed. Was hoping to find a company that could improve the shape. I'm guessing it may have to be just with shaped high density foam or something. I have seen that in newer Van's the rear seats at least look more comfortable. Are they made any different I wonder?

Thanks but cant see how that could work. Nothing to attach them to and access to the locker below is needed.

In the mean time could you put something behind the bottom of the back to make it more comfortable.
