I'm a newbie
Some advice please. My new to me 2016 Bailey AA740 has had the bumper seal taken out and filled with Sikaflex or similar.

Not a great job and now going black.

I want to replace the seal with something more permanent.

Sikaflex themselves say cured sealant can only be mechanically removed.

Is my only choice to carefully remove it and find a seal big enough to cover the seal? If I am right can anybody recommend a seal that will do the job?

You shouldn’t have a problem taking that out as long as you are careful I would firstly slice it with a trimming knife blade and then use a piece of plastic to prise it out ( I use one of the tools from my trim remover set ) then one else out clean up the remnants gently using a trimming knife blade as a scraper be very careful as that looks like it’s GRP.
as for trim have a search on eBay I’m sure you’ll find white rubber trim of some kind to do the job.😊👍

B&Q sell a silicone remover tool kit which has shaped plastic “blades”. They will help to remove the sealant without scratching the finish on the panels.

There are special tools to remove mastic safely, see HERE not sure if it will work on Sikaflex but worth a punt.

I would be more concerned why someone has done it in the first place, maybe a damp problem?

Found some in white but may be to small.

Seems it’s the right size but only in white.
they do not stock black. So white it is. Now ordered will see how it looks when it gets here.
if it looks not so good I have another option.

Well ordered yesterday early evening and arrived today.

looks to me like it will do the job. Will seal against the walls and flex above the wheel arches and rear bumper.
self adhesive stop on the flat back.
