I have a 2008 Rapido A class, I have just a tech guy say that there is no RCD unit in the van and one should be fitted

My 2008 Hymer didn't have one either. I never got round to fitting one.

Worth fitting one for peace of mind. Our first Hymer in 2008 didn't have I fitted one.

Emm, if it's cheap and fairly simple, it's daft not to I suppose.

Cheers guys, thats something else I didn't know that I do now(y)

If you are short of space in the switch box, you could swap the MCB for an RCBO. An RCBO combines the function of an MCB (overcurrent protection) with the function of an RCD (shock protection). It's fairly straighforward to fit, but not completely trivial. It's more expensive than a separate RCD and MCB, but since only one is required, it's no fortune.
