Queen wasps

Our motorhome was layed up unheated since early November. .... Now we are using it again with heating and two days running we've had queen wasps appear inside the van. :Eeek:
How the blazes do they get in there and where could they have been hiding?:unsure:
 
Queen wasps hibernate through the winter. They would have been hiding in nooks and corners. You've woken them up by turning the heating on. :)
 
They don’t actually eat wood, they chew it to make the nest structure.

Yes they do ,,, I think that's the workers and they are slowly demolishing my garden shed. :doh:
Hopefully they haven't started on the motorhome. :pray:

Apart from these wasps, we always have loads of Lacewings making their home in the van every year.
