Just right for my plane. Airframe is American, engine comes from Austria. Chinese tools mean only need one set of sockets

People may very well be surprised that China now produces a lot of the worlds high tech gear. The main area in the consumer arena they don't match the west on is in chip manufacturing.
They also produce cheap crap for ebay budget buyers, but they also do a lot of high quality stuff.

If you have a computer or a smart phone there is a better than 50% chance a good part of it was made in China.

I will - I hate I phones/pads etc. Although my complaint is not the build quality they probably would be better made here. We have a lot of high quality engineering here; most of the formula 1 grid (including Mercedes) and some of the more desirable cars.

Nothing wrong with most Apple products, I cannot see how the goods would be 'better made here' as the tooling would be the same but the costs would be higher....
