PVC with a normal hab door?

Yes IH made / make one.

Look up Poshcats Camping on YouTube for Smurf.

I like the channel as well.

There is a tour of the van somewhere on the channel.

I think there are one or two but they always look a bit of a bodge where the sliding door has been removed.
I get what you're saying, but I think they just look different from what we're used to!

Would I choose one? 🤔

Is there such a thing as a PVC with a MH style hab door instead of a whoosh bang?

It's a purely idle question ...
We would like to have Power Latching on the MAN TGE (VW Crafter) but as yet it's not an option. With that the 'Woosh' may still be there but the 'Bang' should not.

For me it's more about not having that massive door in the side. Mind you, this is purely academic as I have an A Class and no serious plans to change it. Just playing the "what if?" game as I like the idea of a completely custom layout.

But that large door engages you with the outside world rather than looking out of tiny portholes and a slot!

One of the joys of a whoosh bang door is that it is like a patio door and brings the outside in. I certainly wouldn’t want a panel van conversion with a small door. Even doing the washing up is less of a chore by a large open door.

The IH ones are on the VW Crafter or MAN TGE base (both the same vehicle just different names) with I think only the N-680CRL having the small habitation door, that is on the LWB (6.8m) version of the base vehicle.

Not sure if it would be classed as a PVC but I suppose it was......my Split screen VW Camper had 2 barn doors that folded out from the side of the body, one could even hook the self contained water tank and cooker on one of the doors so one could cook inside the awning.

We have the IH N680CFL with the door. So much better than the whoosh bang and the best rear bathroom on any van we have had.

Well We like it anyway:love:

IH certainly used to do the hartal door on their 630 Fiat RL range. It came with the boot rather than the ordinary doors. Maybe they only do it on the VW crafter 680 now but it definitely used to be an option because we nearly bought one but then decided we liked the big door.

We no longer have noisy children, we don’t have a dog so I love to slam the door a lot even though it didn’t need to be slammed.

135k euros as a start - blimey!
And no UK agents!!

I do like the La Strada Nova M but C1, the cost, the absence of agents and Class 3 on French motorways would probably put me off even in the event of a lottery win to finance the purchase.

There was one at the Newark show today. I thought I would remember make, but don’t. May be IH. Didn’t like it. I found it difficult to get in and had to get out backwards.

IH N-class. They are relatively rare compared to the "whoosh bang" type. We waited ages to find a 6m N-class, drove from the South coast to the Midlands to view it, then to purchase it, had it for15 months, didn't suit us!

It has occurred to me in the past that the shorter wheelbase vans have shorter doors which would follow the same contours and could be used with an ad hoc middle or end section to fill the gap. Done in the factory that might provide an alternative layout for campers etc.
