I know what you mean there are
many many toasters that say two slices BUT. They don’t take a full slice as there is always a bit poking out the top all the time.

so you could be looking for a deep toaster. If there is such a thing.
even a long toaster would do just a single slice but not two.

If you do an internet search for the best toaster you will find lots of them.
then your find just as many negative reports on ALL of them.

so my thinking is bread under the toaster bacon on the Hobb dry frying.
problem solved. Unless you don’t have the room on the hob because of the eggs beans tomato’s and mushrooms.

in that case fry what you have to and wrap in tinfoil place in the oven til it’s all cooked.

then clean all the pans ect .
before serving your hot food from the oven. That’s how we do it.

but if you don’t have an oven and it seems some moho don’t then there are alway cafes.
your just have to take your bacon with you and ask for toast.

We make "Posh Toast" in our van when we are on hook up, which isn't very often.
I say posh toast as we have the crusts cut off.
As That's the only way it fits into our 1KW Swiss make toaster.:giggle:
We also use one of those tin hotplates with holes in, that sits on the hob, but you can only do one slice at a time.:(
Being head chef in the van, means that I always get the 1st slice, while the wife keeps herself busy on her I pad.;)
Once it warmed up, its pretty quick though, and you then get equally impressive "Polka Dot" pattern style toast.(y)

Great answer, thanks 😂

I’ve always used a low power specific toaster for the camper (and electric kettle too) but, from the replies, it looks like it’s not necessary.

No need for an electric toaster. They just take up too much room. We a simple rack that you put over the gas burner. It works beautifully.

Have you a link please? I need one as I can't use the grill now.

This is what we use. Gas stove grilled toast is definitely better that made in an electric toaster and besides where do you find 230v ? The sun only gives me 12v

They don’t take a full slice as there is always a bit poking out the top all the time.

Normally heat rises and toasts the bit that's sticking out.

I got a cookworks 800 w toaster, it's a bit slow but only draws 3.5 amps and whilst the bread does stick out of the top, it does brown all of the slice.

That's the one! Sits on the hob, once warmed up it makes perfect "Polka Dot" patterned toast.
Plus we use it for Muffins & Crumpets, now who doesn't like a bit of Crumpet eh?
Takes the edge off all those dark cold rainy winters days that make you stay in the van.(y)

We have an expensive 4 slice toaster at home .....and it doesn't take full slice's either unless you help one end in while pressing the lever down.
You could always cut the crust off one end.

This is why I’ve only ever used camper specific appliances when away. I guess a standard one will be fine if on hook up but I might just buy one of the hob top things and give it a go.

Try a Dualitt toaster, those take full sized bread & toast everything from top to bottom.
Must disagree with you there. I keep having to flip my scottish plain loaf slices to get them all toasted :frowny:

Including your bank balance!!! o_O o_O o_O ;)
the thing with dualits is every spare part is available my brother pulls them out of skips and landfill refurbs them and sells them
